Woodcut Printmaking
Through my years as an undergraduate, I  enjoyed expanding my material knowledge and working in many mediums. These woodcuts utilize techniques in reductive woodcut, handwritten calligraphy, vector graphics, and laser wood cutting. I regard such material diversity as a driving factor in my artistic process. I seek to integrate my conceptual images with the physical properties of the materials, allowing the materials and process to bleed through my pieces.
"Connection"
“Connection” features a figure positioned at the precipice of the sublime, in a moment of deep understanding. The piece evokes instances of great beauty and revelation. It questions what is it that we connect with, and how this changes us. The multiple material techniques used to create this piece produce distinct visual qualities to each element. These qualities are used to bring the viewer closer to the heart of the piece.

"Nude in the Flame"
"After I drowned / I danced, no longer / tied to air burning beyond / heat intensity incarnate." This original poem surrounds this central figure much like the fire around her. She dances, jubilant and free within, almost as if she wields the fire before her.

"An Experience of Seeing"
The process of seeing is not a singular event. After looking at something with our basal sense of sight, the image must pass through our optic nerve to our visual cortex to be deciphered. From there it becomes a mental image to be pondered and worked with abstractly since we have removed it from its original context in the physical world. This process of seeing, truly understanding a visual experience, is depicted in this vertical collum.
