LEGACI Project
In September 2021, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced a new nationwide project on child health and development after COVID-19 infection that will begin immediately, and last 4 or more years. The project will engage thousands of children, teens, young adults, and their families from across the United States who did or did not have COVID-19 infection.
The Legaci Project is a team of organizations (Virginia Common Wealth University, New York University, Brown University, and RI Hospital,) that is dedicated to discovering the long-term effects of COVID-19 specifically in the children of our nation (ages 0-25).  Working with teams all across the nation to recruit and research, Legaci is working to provide the best care for our youth.
In order to help in this cause, I volunteered my time and talent to work with the Legaci team on a logo and marketing material. Since patient outreach, recruitment, and long-term patient relationships are such an integral part of this study, having a strong visual brand for the project is key. The logo is an abstracted tree, signifying the growth and development of the children to be treated and our understanding of COVID-19. The stem of the tree also reads as a path, a way out of this pandemic through such a strong community effort as Legaci.
This logo and its variations are to be used in the coming months in flyers, advertisements, websites, printed on the side of mobile research vans, and pasted to the walls or research centers. The bold and scientific Futura set invitingly next to bright blues and yellows creates a friendly environment for the parents and children that will interact with the project in the coming years.

Virginia Commonwealth University
I have developed internal and external collateral working with VCU's clinical research center and Nursing program. VCU's research and nursing programs are very focused on bringing healthcare and education to the underserved populations in Virginia. These two designs showcase how they are achieving this goal.

THE ULTRASOUND PROJECT
As a part of VCU's prenatal research initiatives, the Ultrasound Project was developed to engage the community in the health of mothers and their babies by providing free ultrasounds, pregnancy support, and educational material. This project specifically aimed to aid mothers affected by substance abuse and provide additional compensation for their time.
My design approach to this flyer was to develop an inviting and community-centric presentation of the material and to lay the information out in an easily scannable way.

SCHOOL OF NURSING RUBRIC
The School of Nursing pushes its professors and educators to pursue scholarly development within the program and the community at large. To lay out the expectations of various levels of professors, VCU has developed this rubric.
With so much important information being presented to the professors within this document necessitates it is easy to read and understand. I was contracted to design it in such a way.  Breaking the information into legible columns and allowing space for the type to avoid crowding was pivotal here.
