Logos
In my freelance work, I have cooperated with multiple businesses to create unique and compelling identities. Starting in my sketchbook, I begin with jotting many ideas in words and pictures. Keeping the company's goals and story in mind this process will lead to the fruition of a more select group of options. It is then a conversation between myself and the busines owner as to which design we will move forward with. Adobe Illustrator is my go-to tool for logo creation. I then layout various arrangements of the logo and logo type (if any) with instructions for which context suits each.
Kicsak Farms: Local, grass-fed cattle farm
These final sketched were the basis for the Kicsak Farms logo. There are plenty examples of cattle farm logos that feature a cow head, and this was one of the requests from the client. Thus, the challenge was to create something that was unique and pleasant, but also conformed to the standard of the cow head. Starting from a realistic rendering of a cow, I worked to abstract the shapes into naturalistic cow prints. These shapes define the shape of the head and leave the impression of organic origins.
The company prided itself on how well it treaded its cows, moving them to new, green pastures when needed, and only feeding them a natural diet of grass, never grain. These organic shapes show this company is tied to nature in a unique way. The tilted mouth of the cow can be read as quirky or simulating the motion the jaw makes while eating; both interpretations the client was happy with.

Propel: Sport apparel brand
This start-up sports apparel company was in need of an identity. As a business proposal, I designed these assets. While I was not contracted for the work, this work with identity package creation. Through the logo, patterns, slogan, color palette, and apparel mock-ups, I wanted to display a cohesive visual brand for the company. The idea was to play off the name of the company and focus on motion and how the brand could support your movement in athletics. Vibrant colors and motion blurs convey this sense of motion and allow for many possibilities to expand the visual brand through patterns and colorwork.

Water Street Brewery
Yes, these are posters, not logos. However, I am too excited about them not to include them in my portfolio. In these poster advertisements for Water Street Brewery and Restaurant, I was given complete creative freedom. The illustrative and textured aesthetics compliment the restaurant's historic and authentic personality while bringing excitement and intrigue to their special deals.
